That's what I get for attempting to use brain when > 11pm. I realized that my sound-related comment related to your earlier post.

Now the mystery is…where did *that* comment go. Perhaps Blogger was nervous at the use of so many "LOD"s in the text and flagged it as naughty talk…

Cheers.

As for the panel, I couldn’t make heads or tails of regions in the documentation, blog, freeware examples or .org posts – maybe due to a short attention span. (My eyes glassed-over every time I’ve tried.) So I won’t use it. Or rather, can’t use it.

Perhaps repost the original comment?

But unless my brain is seriously failing, didn’t you snip about half of my original comment out, Ben? I *did* also make reference to OBJ files and sound…

Cheers.

Daveduck, I only fear that perhaps some aspect of the message of this particular post was lost on you (or perhaps you simply ignored it):

– _Even_ when the panel system is fully documented (at some point in the future), it will _still_ be confusing, because it is poorly designed.

Now that panel system will be documented more fully some time mid beta…I am working with Max to update our default C172 to use v930 features; once this is done I want to use it as an example to build some tutorials in the new tech.

But some percentage of the confusion I see re: panel authoring comes not from under-documentation (which IS a real problem), but from mix & match…that is, people trying to use combinations of the panel system that don't play well together, and getting unexpected results.

Well, I guess it had to be said. There’s irony in you’re posing it in an excellently written blog. There’s two reasons why I read Ben’s blog – the need to know and the pleasure of reading a well-organized and written piece!

Yes, a little snarky, that, but come on. What stops Austin from prioritizing such a basic aspect of the operation? How is possible that after years of complaints from just about everyone, there remains this scattershot, ineffective delivery of information by Laminar about its products and their usage?

Yes, documentation takes time and money. And this is stopping it from happening…why?
