This is one thing that makes global illumination easier to manage than lit textures.

Global illumination sources don't cast shadows yet – some may do so someday, probably not for 10.0. More on shadows later.

And what about multiple light sources, will areas overlapped by several light sources shine brighter than a single one? What about an object that is lit with GI, will it shine brighter closer to the source than further away?
