I’ve heard the “Too many files open” problem is due to an internal Mac file system or networking limitation. Mine crashed repeatedly at 99% so I had to use the updater method. That updater probably needs to go at the top of the Mac torrent page with an ‘urgent’ note.

Stan’s suggestion worked for me. Was using a macbook with uTorrent to download the torrent and could previously only acquire about 25% of the torrent, then switched to using Transmission. Worked and downloaded in 20 mins – Thanks! Seeding now. Thanks X-Plane team, can’t wait to check this out!

Exactly what happened to me (‘Error: Too many open files”), that is why i had to hold its hand for 13 straight hour!s, I on the 99% i gave up then like a “chariot of the gods I ran Ben’s updater’ and it cleaned up the files, “You art simply a genius Ben in putting that up, it took away the doubt of any missing or damaged files….pure brilliance.
