I am glad you could solve the issue 🙂
The same happened to me – that’s how I found out 😉
I will let simheaven know about it.

Thanks heaps Caruso. Thanks to your post, I now understand why I can’t see Botany Bay. I have Simheaven’s Sydney City tile installed. I’ve trawled high and low in the .Org forums, posted here & even sent an email to X-Plane.com tech support before arriving at this point.

Had some basic installation instructions been provided, either with the release notes or in a downloaded readme (please correct me if it has and I have missed it), much of these headaches could have been avoided, especially for novices such as myself.

Some examples of useful guidelines:
-After you update to XP10.30b8, you will find a new folder in your Global Scenery folder called ‘Recuts 1030’. This folder contains re-cut .dsf files to correct a number of global scenery anomalies, including — list the geographical areas fixed & the associated .dsf files–(not just a set of loosely labelled pics)
– You do not need to do anything with this new folder; the updated .dsf files will load automatically when you run X-Plane.
-Warning: if you have photoscenery installed from a non-X-Plane.com source, this may still override these new X-Plane.com .dsf re-cuts. In this case, you will need to wait until your photoscenery provider updates their .dsf files in the same way X-Plane.com has now done, or uninstall the photoscenery for the area you want to see X-Plane.com’s updated .dsf files.

thank you so much for making 64bit Linux installer! With that it will be much easier for newcommers to install XPlane on 64bit distros…

Have a nice day and may the weekend bring you more opportunities to get some sleep…

Kind regards,

Michal

Do you have photo scenery installed at YSSY (e.g. Simeheaven or similar)? If so this may need to be updated to the actual DSF by the creator.

Currently EDDH, EDDT, EDDV, EGBB, EGKK, EGPF & EIDW are AWOL from my x-plane install as well.

Make sure your DVD is in the drive – if that doesn’t help, please contact tech support.

I’m on a Mac (Maverics) and was un effected. Great work as always!

I have downloaded the latest installer.exe to update XP from V10.11 to V10.30r1. Although the installer scan reports that my install is up to date, I still can’t see Botany Bay near YSSY. Any idea what could be going wrong?

I’m assuming you get the recut dsf files when you select ‘Update Scenery’ and do a scan, not when you select ‘Update X-Plane’ and do a scan. There is also conflicting info in the forums about whether DVD disk 1 must be in your drive or not when choosing to update your global scenery.
