We use the legacy OpenGL profile because we need ARB_compatibility; this gets us GL 2.1.
OpenGL 4.1 is only available to clients who use the core profile only.
OpenGL 4.1 would expose new features to x-plane that x-plane would then have to be modified to take advantage of; simply running on a newer GL version doesn’t directly change anything.
]]>I see in the log:
OpenGL Version : 2.1 NVIDIA-10.0.43 310.41.05f01 (210/0)
but Mac is now up to 4.1?
iMac (27 pouces, fin 2013) NVIDIA Geforce GTX 775M 4.1(open GL) 1.2(Open CL).
before it was 3.1.
would it give us benefice to go to 4.1 or is there something i don’t know that would prevent to go to that version?
Thank you Ben
]]>They support instancing and it is already enabled. There will be no improvement because there is no problem.
]]>This is strictly Mac only; there is no problem and there will be no change on Windows.
]]>Honestly I did get crash like once in a full moon. But nothing since all logs are clear of error. 10.10 is stable to me.
When you will release a new patch add some scenery (the gnome team) will look after the error. We are with you Ben don’t give up.
]]>Reason for asking is that I want to know if the > 5% increasment in performance for Macs will have any similar effects on Windows?
