Oh and make the weather system more impressive but … priorities! 🙂

Just chiming in here as a “lurker” and a flight simulator enthusiast (and a commercial pilot, AND a software developer).

Your blog posts are amazing and incredibly informative.

It’s so refreshing to see the “openness” on the software development process on what is clearly a VERY complex piece of software.

To the whole team, keep up the good work!

Hello Ben,

thank you. I understand, that you are now going to from beta to rc. But if there will be possibility to include different X-windows naming feature (and if this do not require huge change in code) it would be nice to introduce it together with monitor_bound as complete fix needed for Linux multiview support. So I will hope for the best. 🙂 Anyway please feel free to contact me anytime later for testing or proposed wrapper integration. Thank you for you time and great work! Kind regards
Litin

I don’t think we’ll get specific window IDs for 11.10 but we may be able to do it in the future – Michael brought it up but we’re late in the beta.

I am aware of TAA techniques!

Yes. Ben, have you ever looked into temporal AA for X-Plane. AA becomes a high priority in VR and I think any time put in this would be well invested.

I haven’t bought X-plane yet because of the lack of native VR, but the moment VR goes to public Beta I’ll be screaming “take my money!”

how about just getting some more AA settings for use with VR? their are much better shader based AA now then FXAA

also wtb AF setting slider back 16x AF is a must in VR

Well we can move windows (i.e. override or as you wrote “hack” window manager) to proper places, but we need XPL to set different ID of these windows tiles. 😮 Again, you do not need to program everything, just give us possibility to do it. 🙂 I would say that combinations of monitor_bounds for letting XPL know that there are multiple windows and different windows IDs will solve this problem completely once for all.

If XPL windows tiles IDs will be predictable I can write small XPL shell wrapper using for example wmctrl to move spawned windows around any desktop configuration. And yes I will share it with community as OS, although it won’t be any rocket science. 🙂

Do you think it is possible? For example take it from order of windows_bounds parameter: first screen id0, second id1, etc. Thank you.

Kind regards
Litin
