For the last few weeks we’ve been working behind the scenes to modernize our web infrastructure.  Now that we have the new web server running, I (and by me I really mean Chris, because he did all the work, which makes this the best transition ever) am merging the X-Plane Scenery blog into the new development blog.

All of the old posts have been transferred to the new blog. The old blog is still in place; the main page will redirect here but the individual articles will “stay” in your browser for convenience – there are plenty of links to the old blog on various forum posts, etc.

If you have the scenery blog bookmarked, please update it to http://www.x-plane.com/blog/.

  1. Cool. Nice to see this move (I was already surprised a few minutes ago by the automatic forward and the new design) 🙂 Will you move “Hacks of Life” too or will it stay where it is?

  2. Andras, I don’t think the hacks of life blog will be consolidated – it’s not an official LR blog in any way.

Jay, not sure what else will end up here; Chris may begin posting – he refused to post on blogger because he’s stubborn^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hfor reasons of principle. We’re not sure what we’re going to do with Austin’s posts yet.

  3. One little suggestion – do get and implement a captcha system guys. I (most of us, I guess) would rather see you working hard on X-Plane 10 than hunting down link-spams throughout the blog comments 😉

    1. The xplanescenery blog was hand moderated…it’s not that burdensome and without it I didn’t really know who was saying what. Also blogs tend to attract link spam, so I like to know what’s actually posted!

  4. I thought i seeing things the layout was like the one i use…wordpress…
Thank god you have got away from that google login, this far better….

  5. Nice and apparently smooth move Ben, and great to see others contribute more (but I thought it was just you 🙂 )

Nice comeback from Chris on his first entry! I love Austin’s stories (ooh, carbon fibre, I could stroke that! Tell him NOT to paint it..), but if you add him as a contributor, make sure u have extra gigs of storage 🙂
