I’ve marked WorldEditor 1.2.1 as final. If you are a WorldEditor user, please upgrade from 1.2 to 1.2.1. Besides fixing a bunch of bugs (including annoying usability bugs), it changes the format of the zip files for submissions to the global airports to a format that is a lot easier for us to handle on our end.
The next version of WED will be 1.3 and will include more usability features; we’re not sure what else will go in that bucket or when we’ll cut it off and kick it out the door.
Hi.
Any idea when we can expect some more Lego Pieces??
Thanks.
Just dropped by to thanks for a great tool.
Would love to have the ability to select a “BING maps” background similar to the function in Overlay Editor.
I spoke with Marginal a little bit about this, but my interpretation of the BING maps Eula is that including it in WED would be inviting our users to violate Bing’s Eula, and then send the derived works to us under the GPL, so I can’t really get behind that. 🙁 OSM has specific licenses with their image providers to allow tracing.
If you or anyone finds an image source that is not license entangled, please file a WED bug in the WED bug database with some info; it would be nice to find a reliable imagery source.
If you know a good ortophoto WMS server, you can use wms2pol tool in order to “easly” make background photographic airports (it’s explained in x-plane.es wiki… in spanish 🙁 )
Is there a way to import my own water datasets?
You can build a mesh with Meshtool – it can take water data as shapefiles.
Perfect! Thank you for your response
